10 Ideas of Things to Do With the Kids This Summer
July is here and the school holidays will soon be upon us. That means six weeks of your little ones waiting to be kept entertained. If you're at a bit of a loss as to how to do just that, this list of 10 ideas for family days out should help.

1. Chances are that if your children are bored, chances are that other parents' children are exactly the same. Why not arrange with your children's friends' parents for their kids to come round and play with yours. They can then return the favour later in the holidays, providing you with a day to rest up.

2. It's important your children get plenty of exercise, but in these days of video games and TVs in bedrooms, it can often be a challenge to get them out the house. One way might be to arrange a bike ride for the entire family. There are bike trains throughout the country, offering picturesque settings and plenty of fresh air.

3. If your child has a thirst for learning or an interest in cool stuff, you may find that a trip to a museum could be a great way to spend a day. They're often free or have deals on family tickets and can keep everyone entertained for a long time.

4. Theme parks are every child's dream, so if you're looking for a family day out that has something for everyone, this could be answer.

5. Zoos are also extremely popular with children and are a great place for them to learn about different types of animals in a fun environment. Many offer family tickets or lower admission prices for children, so it needn't be an expensive day.

6. If you don't mind a monkey on your roof, you may want to consider a trip to a UK safari park. Your children will absolutely love it and, so long as you're not overly precious about your vehicle, so will you!

7. However, days out needn't be too extravagant. Take your children to the local park and watch them enjoy themselves on the slides, swings and climbing frames. Many parks now have gym equipment that allow children and adults to get a little physical exercise.

8. If the weather holds up and we have a good summer, you may want to consider a trip to the coast. If you live inland, chances are your children don't get to see the sea or build a sandcastle too often. By heading on a road trip, you and your kids can make some fantastic summer memories.

9. Water parks are also a popular family day out and swimming provides a great opportunity for them to get some exercise away from their video game consoles and computers.

10. If you fancy trying something a little different for your family day out, the horse races may have something special to offer. There's something for everyone, with exhilarating races, a chance to see the horses up close and - for the adults - an opportunity to have a flutter. All in all, they make for great days out for the whole clan.
