Top Tips on Buying a Static Caravan

Top Tips on Buying a Static Caravan
Trying to decide which static caravan is for you is no easy task; it's not as straight forward as buying a car, for instance. There is much more to ponder over in the decision to purchase.

Choosing the right Static Caravan
If you are a large family, there is not much point in choosing a small two berth caravan! The same goes if you are a small family, try and choose a caravan which you can grow into, rather than looking at those which you will outgrow.

Most static caravans come fully equipped and make fantastic holiday homes or even permanent homes. The size and berth of the caravan is your main choice to make, but as they say, the larger is better! Many static caravans can comfortably sleep 6 or even 8 people and they are often listed as having 2 or 3 bedrooms and the extra sleeping area is the living room which will have fold out beds.

Buying a New or Pre-Owned Caravan
Costs vary between new and pre-owned caravans but that does not mean there is not a bargain to be had. Contact a few static caravan parks and gauge the prices on their stock caravans, the park will also have a list of owners who are willing to sell their static caravans.

Obviously the condition of the caravan will be a factor and a new caravan is bound to be in a lot better condition than a second hand caravan, but that is not to say it has not been looked after. The decision on purchasing a new or pre-owned caravan will rely solely on your budget available.

Which Caravan Park for my Static Caravan
This is a major factor and you need to make the right choice of Caravan Park as the area must be one you like visiting as you will probably be spending quite a bit of time at your new static holiday caravan! Decisions such as these are never easy and the majority of people always purchase at a park they have previously visited on numerous occasional and are very familiar with the area.

If you have children, you need a caravan park which caters for this, one with swimming pools, arcades, play areas and events and entertainment to keep the children occupied throughout your holiday stay. Entertainment is only generally available at caravan parks in their peak seasons and you should always contact the park for their event schedule before making your park choice.

If you are an older couple you would probably prefer a caravan park which will be more peaceful area rather than one which is close to a major town or city which would be more interested for younger people.

Take Site Fees into Consideration
Site fees are the charges that the caravan park will levy for you to store your static caravan on their park. This is usually a yearly lump sum, which will vary from park to park. The site fee does not include any electric or gas supply to the static caravan, merely a site fee for the ground the caravan sits upon.

Top 5 Attractions in Northumberland

Top 5 Attractions in Northumberland
Owning holiday homes in Northumberland gives you access to an excellent range of things to see and do. Here's our own holiday shortlist of the top five attractions in the area.

1: Hadrian's Wall. One of the UK's most famous monuments, still winding its way across the divide between England and Scotland, Hadrian's Wall is a must see for every visitor to the area. You can still imagine the Roman soldiers patrolling the Wall at night, their torches flickering in the moonlight... Described by USA Today as "Better than Stonehenge", and one of UNESCO's World Heritage sites (putting it up there with the Great Barrier Reef and Yellowstone), Hadrian's Wall is Northumberland's premier attraction.

2: Owning holiday homes in Northumberland puts you within striking distance of a number of historic sites - including the Holy Isle of Lindisfarne. Made famous by the pilgrims who trekked to it hundreds of years ago, the Isle of Lindisfarne is seen as one of the founding locations of English Christianity. The Lindisfarne Gospels, gorgeously illustrated versions of Mark, Luke and John, were created here. These days, visitors flock to the Isle for its great pubs and freshly caught shellfish as much as the church.

3: If you own holiday homes in Northumberland you get the benefits of seeing the county at every stage of its year. Some of the environmental attractions in and around Berwick-upon-Tweed are reason enough to come back again and again - including the famous Kielder Water and Forest. Kielder Water itself is a huge manmade lake, with ample sailing: the real natural attraction here is the Forest, the largest in England. Exploring its trails on foot or by bike, outdoor loving families can spend weeks just coming back to Kielder.

4: History buffs and kids alike will love a visit to Hexham Old Gaol - the oldest purpose built prison in England. 500 years of crime and punishment have left their mark on Hexham Old Gaol, which now contains state of the art displays and interactive learning stations. Transport yourself back to the violent years of medieval Northumberland and go on your own time travelling adventure inside the thick walls of the prison.

Drop down to dungeon level in a glass lift - and experience the true terror of a Reiver raid in stunning high definition audio visual.

5: Holiday homes in Northumberland give visitors the chance to explore some of the country's finest stately homes. The pick of the bunch has to be the incredible Seaton Delavel, whose monumental facade spreads a gorgeous yellow stone face to meet visitors as they walk up the sweeping drive. One of the greatest examples of 18th century British architecture, Seaton Delavel offers parking facilities, and has both a tea room and a designated picnic area. Seaton Delavel accepts groups though booking in advance, with definite numbers, is essential. Families don't need to book.

How To Find Your Perfect Vacation Rental

How To Find Your Perfect Vacation Rental
Spending your vacation in a vacation home or a villa is preferred by many over spending it in a hotel room. If you want to get a good rental for your next vacation it is important to understand how to go about finding your perfect vacation rental.

If you are planning on renting your next vacation home, there are a few aspects of renting that you should make yourself knowledgeable of. There are things like early booking options and signing an agreement that you should education yourself about. You can even hire a rental agency to find the rental for you and take care of the paperwork.

The first and most important thing is to make sure you know what you want from your vacation home. You will need to understand the local customs and traditions as well as local amenities and commerce before heading to your destination.

Rental agencies generally suggest reserving your rental property ten to fifteen months in advance. This can help you get exactly what you are looking for in the place you want to go. However, you can wait until the last minute to try and get a better deal but this comes with some risk.

You will want to inquire about the closest towns and markets. You will want to check with the rental to ensure they provide bed sheets and towels as well as the presence or absence of the property owners and other guests.

It is best to ask for references from previous renters to best understand what is included with your rental and if there are any details that would be helpful to know. Having a picture of the house or taking a virtual tour beforehand is recommended.

After you have found your ideal vacation house, make sure that you get a written rental agreement. You will want to read the details of the contract to ensure you understand any extra fees, costs, and expectations.

Just make sure that you do your research before renting your property. Getting the help of a real estate agent or rental agency can make the process easier. Once you have found the perfect place, having done your research will make certain that your perfect vacation goes smoothly.

Benefits of a Family Vacation

Benefits of a Family Vacation
Whether your children are all grown up or still in the stroller, there are many different benefits to taking a little break with the family. It is important to everyone's mental health to get out of a routine and spend some time in the moment. A vacation can reduce stress and anxiety, especially in relationships between family members. Many married couples and children can work through problems and rebuild relationships if they spend enough time together.

Young children grow up fast. Before you know it, your 5-year-old will be in college and not have a minute to spend with the family. This is yet another reason to head to the beach. You want your child to have positive memories of time spent with the family. A fun childhood often translates into a happier adult. Teaching young kids how to get along with their parents and siblings could make a huge difference in the future.

If planned well, a trip to the beach may be just what a family needs. Activities involving all members can strengthen relationships. The more you know about each other, the more you can learn about how to make the relationships work. There are many different activities offered on a beach for families. Boat rentals, snorkeling, bike riding, and surfing are only the tip of the iceberg. Most beach destinations also have great restaurants. There are few memories quite like a wonderful family dinner.

Many vacation destinations also offer childcare in the event that Mom and Dad want to spend a night out on the town alone. Not only will a family grow in the experience, but the parents may have some time to reignite their romance.

The 5 Main Benefits Of Holiday Homes

The 5 Main Benefits Of Holiday Homes
When it comes to family vacations then accommodation is a big decision. Not only does it eat up a large chunk of your budget but it greatly affects the quality of your vacation. There are basically two options available to you. The first is a hotel or a resort style hotel and the second is to rent a vacation home. In my opinion vacation homes are a much better option for several reasons. Here are 5 of them...

Space
While many people may argue that space is not all that important when you are on holiday it absolutely does. If you are a family of 4 or more then renting a big holiday home can be very economical and there will be more than enough space for everyone. It will allow the parents privacy and the kids enough space to play indoors if they have to. A hotel can get very cramped after a week or two.

Kitchen
Most hotels don't have kitchens which means you have to buy most of your meals. Expensive! Holiday homes however have fully fitted kitchens which will allow you to prepare your own meals. It also allows family time during meals which is a great thing on holiday. It will save you money and you will probably have much better quality food than getting take-aways all the time.

Amenities
The majority of holiday homes come with washers and dryers which allows you do your washing yourself - and for free. Hotels not only charge you but it actually keeps most people from doing it at the hotel and looking for a laundromat elsewhere - a real hassle.

Entertainment
While resorts usually have great entertainment it lacks that in-room entertainment that many kids want these days. Holiday homes have their own TV's with Cable and you don't have to pay extra. If you want to watch movies you can just get a DVD and you don't have to pay hotel rates just to watch a film. Some even have PlayStations to keep kids entertained on rainy days.

Privacy
Perhaps the biggest issue with hotels is privacy. No matter where you turn you have other people in your face. When we are on holiday we often just want some peace and quiet and you will never get that in a hotel. With a family home you will have complete privacy and will probably not even know you have a neighbor. You will have all the peace and quiet you deserve on your holiday.

5 Excellent Halloween Costume Ideas For Kids In 2011

5 Excellent Halloween Costume Ideas For Kids In 2011
t is quite amazing that costumes never ever stop selling online, and that people actually start preparing for Halloween quite early and look for costume bargains online way ahead of time. When searching for that costume for a child, that unique costume you want your child to parade around in or the costume your child specifically wants, we really are spoiled for choice.

There are literally hundreds of thousands of costumes to choose from, so many themes, styles, designs, sizes and so on that it can be overwhelming, frustrating and very time consuming to find the right costume for your child.

Over the past month I have created a few lists on my Halloween sites of costumes available for children as well as adults and here I will choose my top 5 from the children's list that can hopefully inspire you, give you ideas and help make it a little easier to make a quick decision on a costume for your child. Here you have some of the most amazing costumes available for children and a wide choice for The Flash, Batman, Superman, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, HawkGirl, The Green Lantern which is a popular one due to the movie, and all can be purchased for children. How To Sell Your Shared Vacation Home

How To Sell Your Shared Vacation Home
Vacations are awesome. When you need to get away from your busy life for a few days, it is nice to sit on the beach and have absolutely nothing to worry about. However, vacations are not easy to plan. When you have to save up for them, pack, and get time off work, it can be a little hectic. Fortunately, there are options out there to make your vacation time more enjoyable. You do not have to spend a fortune on a nice place to rent, but there will always be a little bit of planning involved in any vacation that you may go on. With timeshare rental, it can be easier to get out of the house and not have to sorry about the other stresses of vacationing. If you want to switch to a different rental home, you can always sell timeshare. There are many people who would love to have one and depending on the location, it could be very easy to sell. Finding an agent to do the work for you is easy and convenient.

With one of these vacation homes, you buy the house or condo with another family or a few other families. Depending on how much money you put forth, you get an allotted period of time to stay in the house each year. With this type of home, you never have to worry about finding a new place to stay each year, but you may want to branch out and that is okay because selling your portion of the vacation home should be a fairly simple thing to do.

Vacationing in a home that you own a part of is great and there are many advantages; you can leave some of your belonging there and ultimately pay less than renting a new place each time you travel. If you find a place that you love or it is tradition to go to a certain place each year, then owning a home is great, but if you like to travel to see different places, owning a home in just one place would not be worth it. If you own a vacation home that you share with others and decide that you do not want to be a part of it anymore, the first thing you should do is talk to the other families. They will not want to pay extra for your end of the deal so it is your responsibility to find someone to take over for you.

Advertising is the most important part of selling a vacation home. When families go on trips, they generally do not know what is around that area as far as restaurants go and other places where they can visit or sight see. By advertising on a website with a picture of the place and by including sites where they can visit, eat, or simply go get groceries, families will be more willing to look into your property.

Some people do not like to be stuck in one place, but others are perfectly content with that. If you want to sell your getaway, advertise as much as possible and include things that you love about the place; make it sound like a great place and you will have no trouble. To save time and energy, you can do all of this online or have a representative do the work for you.

Top 6 Places to Visit During Your Holidays in Dorset

Top 6 Places to Visit During Your Holidays in Dorset
Holidaying in Dorset gives you access to some of the most stunning coastal areas in the United Kingdom. Poole and its surrounding area is home to glorious sweeping bays, some of which are still littered with the fossils that have been falling out of shale cliffs since time immemorial. The town itself is "twinned" with Bournemouth (insofar as the two seaside centres are just down the road from each other) and offers ideal family holiday territory, full of all the classic British seaside entertainments.

Owning holiday homes in the area gives you an advantage that most holidaymakers don't have: the ability to come to Dorset whenever you want, to stay for as long as you want, and to get to know the coves and beaches of the area like the back of your hand. When you make an investment in a holiday home you'll have all the time in the world to see the sights and take in those special places. Our favourite six have been listed here to give you a head start.

1: Durdle Door. No holiday in and around Poole is complete without heading down the coast to the legendary Lulworth Cove, a perfect horseshoe shaped cove that includes world famous Durdle Door - a naturally created rock archway that stands proudly in the sea.

2: Owning holiday homes in and around the Dorset town of Bournemouth gives you plenty of time to take advantage of some great water sports. Why not add surfing to your quiver of active hobbies - and try Europe's first ever artificial reef, off Boscombe Pier?

3: Lulworth Castle. When you make your way out to the Cove, take a stop at Lulworth Castle. It's in beautiful repair and makes the perfect start to a great day out. Don't forget to take your fossil hammer with you - then you can step even further back in time and winkle a few ammonites out from the rocks!

4: Bournemouth. Just down the road from Poole and every bit as enjoyable, Bournemouth boasts award winning gardens, a wonderful selection of beaches and more than one pier. You'll find the atmosphere and entertainment in this classic seaside town perfect for all the family, from morning until nightfall.

5: When you invest in holiday homes in the Dorset area, you get to start taking advantage of the "other" other parts of the county - i.e. the bits away from the sea. Take the kids out to Adventure Wonderland and dare them to try the Wild Thing play centre!

6: Bridport. One of the gateways to the Jurassic Coast, Bridport is a colourful, thriving market town with a strong literary and artistic connection. Wander in the markets every Wednesday and Saturday. If you're down on the 2nd Saturday in the month you can take advantage of the Farmer's Market to ensure that your holiday homes are properly stocked with the delicious food and drink that is produced in the area.

How To Survive a Vacation With Kids

How To Survive a Vacation With Kids
If you are a parent, same - can you travel with children in tow ... tiring in the absence of a better word. Not that it's not a great thing to do from time to time, but planning a vacation with children much more than when traveling with adults in need. Friends and family members (eg, sleep depravation and hunger for good reason) is not without reason, cry, freak out if it is too cold or crazy in the zoo on leave without you knowing .

Problem solved Transport - travel with more than five children in tow is a terrible experience so when the opportunity arises to rent a bus. And with the transportation problems are solved and out of the way, you concentrate on other things such as diapers, food filled, milk, candy and toys to keep children. The movement is usually the biggest problem for groups with children, the problem here and focus on other things.

No stress and go with the flow - Enter your sense of humor as a defense. A strong defense against the possibility of ruin holiday together just because everyone is sweating the small stuff. Yes, it's something related to go wrong, if you choose to use bus rental, or you drive around, but usually things do not go "as planned" is not worth the stress. Consider alternatives and guide children when they are agitated.

Planning helps - you know, those who can not go places without envy plan? You do not know where they will spend the night, appears in the first restaurant they see, regardless of health and if she presides. Well, it's not the ride for children, although we have heard a few people who rent a bus and went OK. Generally, planning in advance can really keep things under control.

Distract distract distracted - As you've probably OK with rings with large crowds of people queuing in a long line at a table in a restaurant highly recommended or tickets to an amusement park, children are another story. So play smart. Get a large bag and put pencils, paper, toys, games and other things you can entertain the children. A U-Haul does wonders. Remember to remove the bus when you rent a bus.

Start Smart - nothing more than people so stressed out later for something that is the smart thing to do to get a head start. Setting up an early planning, early in advance. If you are a parent, you do with your children nap "... travel around and if there is a common snack time, do not expect that children are cheerful and happy when she is not given the usual snacks. .. time. Make it on the bus when it is not a good time and place to do so.

Last but not least, you pick your battles, do not sweat the small stuff and go with the flow. Sometimes when you travel as Zen is the only reasonable way to travel with children.

Vacation Home Rentals

Vacation Home Rentals
If you want to go for a vacation, but you are bristling at a price to pay for two hotel rooms just to load the whole family, you might want to look for a cheaper option that can actually offer more space and more private stay wherever you would go for your family vacation. You can not find a rental home in all areas, but you can find them almost anywhere that you might consider get-go. You do not get all that you get to the hotel, but you also get those things that hotels can not offer.

There are a lot of convenience associated with staying in hotels, and they are what you pay when you pay between one and two hundred dollars per night room. You have a restaurant right below you, along with many other major stores and shops in several locations. You have help when you need it, someone to clean up after you, and a great location. However, not all families can afford to drop a lot of money at a hotel just for the extra. Vacation home rental is not possible to offer all things, but you have more privacy and you save lots of money while getting so much more room to move.

If you use a vacation home, you have the ability to save more money by cooking some food themselves. When you are on vacation, you might want to eat a lot so you do not need to cook or clean up a lot, but if you're on a tight budget, it's great for breakfast and even lunch, at the time, that you can make your own. This allows you to spend more money on some decent food at the restaurant of your choice. It also means you can take a longer vacation. Find a vacation rental home with stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and to make life easier.

Some hotels provide a high quality of security staff with top notch security system, but it does not always happen. Some are just in a bad neighborhood. They can have a large security room, but it does not help you if you park in a bad neighborhood or if you have to go through one to get where you're going. There are some hotels that seem to be great on paper or via their website, but you get a pleasant surprise when you get there. You may have the same problem with vacation rental homes, but look at the most into it more because they are unique and they are not chains. Some just book hotels by name, not realizing that not all the best of the rest.

Vacation rental home is not always the best option, but some can be where you experience your most memorable vacation. Some are located right near the beach, and others deep in the woods to experience, private quiet holiday, and relax. You can find them almost anywhere. Some families find that they can spend two more weeks, or even aa month, when they might just be able to afford a week or just a weekend away at the expense of a hotel safe and feasible. If you think you can not afford to go, check before you decide on a vacation is out of question.
